Kryštof Kohout at Wigmore Hall

Czech violinist Kryštof Kohout, together with pianist Edward Leung, will be performing at Wigmore Hall on 27 July 2025 at 7:30 pm.

Kryštof Kohout is an award-winning Czech violinist, praised for his profound artistry, expressive virtuosity and dynamic performances as a captivating soloist and insightful chamber musician. Performing widely across Europe and the US, recent highlights include his Carnegie Hall debut recital, Musikverein Vienna, Konzerthaus Berlin, and Zeneakadémia Budapest, as well as festivals such as the Gstaad Menuhin Festival and Edinburgh International Festival.

The evening places a special focus on Czech music, with two London premieres by Czech composers at its heart. Kohout will perform Sonata for Violin and Piano "Hands" by Luboš Fišer, a powerful and emotionally evocative work, and Romance élégiaque by renowned violinist-composer Váša Příhoda, a poignant and rarely heard miniature of lyrical beauty.

He will be joined by pianist Edward Leung in a programme that also features Bartók’s Sonata for Solo Violin and Richard Strauss’s Violin Sonata in E-flat, works that highlight Kohout’s remarkable interpretive range.
