Marika, a Hungarian widow dressmaker shelters a Czech Jewish boy in her home on the Slovak-Hungarian border during the Wartime Slovak State. Based on Peter Krištúfek’s novella Emma and the Death’s Head and inspired by true events the screening marks the Holocaust Memorial Day.

The ensemble is legendary, marking its 90th jubilee in 2024, with a history tracing back to its foundation in 1934 by pianist Josef Páleníček.
